At least 24 people are believed to have died after a boat carrying suspected illegal immigrants sank off the coast of Turkey as it tried to reach Europe.
The Turkish coastguard managed to rescue 12 people after responding to a distress call from the ship's captain. The nationality of those on board is not yet known.
