On Saturday, June 29 Coach Scott Schmidt held tryouts for Florida National University's Men's Basketball Team at Bucky Dent Gym. Florida National University (FNU) will be using Bucky Dent Gym as its home court during the group's inaugural season. Coach Schmidt was very delighted with the turnout of 45 players. Based upon the huge turnout, Schmidt feels the FNU team ought to be poised to have a great first season.
"The 12 players we finished with I think can all play at the next level. Everything comes down to exactly what I feel our group should contend at a high level and succeed our first year. I value everyone coming out, working hard and showing support of FNU Athletics. I expect a thriving season," said Schmidt.
