Dinesh, witness of Uttarakhand flood disaster speaks out.

"My name is Dinesh, Agastyamuni Village, Rudraprayag District".

He says " I want to tell you that the road here was 40 feet wide and just below the road were farms, houses, gardens, banana trees, mango trees and people used to do farming here for their living. Today everything is devastated, nothing is left here. At present, people are going through really tough times with no water and food and many other difficulties. Most people here are homeless now. They have no place to live, sleep, no food and no shelter for themselves. Everyone is homeless. On the other side of the river, people are so troubled, they have no roads, no farming, no water, no electricity. These people are very troubled, I don't know how they are managing this difficult life and no one is reaching out to help them. As there are no roads these people have to walk for 10 kms for their basic necessities. Even if someone falls ill, fighting for his life, the administration has made no arrangements, they are only providing their services to the rich and the well-known people. All roads are blocked, schools are closed, everything is messed up. Children are not able to continue their studies. There were 3 storey buildings here, farms were here and ready to be tilled. All farms have been swept away. In today's date you can only see rocks over here. These houses are owned by very rich people owning 3 to 4 cars. 5 or 6 families live here. There was a 60 feet wide road in front. Down below there was a cow shed, a pond. Today we can see only rocks here. These houses are still in the danger zone. The vacant land you see here, had around 7-8 houses and a very old temple, in today's time there can be no traces found. There was a school called Shiksha Mandir and you can see the sand deposited on the roof of the school. Earlier, the river was 30 feet below the school, in today's time the water has risen upto 20 feet. Where you see the tree, there was a 3 storey building but in today's time it's only barren land. Up ahead, there was a bridge which people used for daily commuting. Today the bridge has been swept away. The river was 40 feet deep, but today the water has risen upto 20 feet which makes it a total of 60 feet deep".
