Tall ship hits rocks off Irish coast

A Dutch tall ship ran up on rocks off the Cork coastline in southern Ireland on July 24. Astrid, a 42-metre training vessel, took on the water in force five gale winds. The 30 crew and trainees from the Astrid were rescued by a lifeboat and a local sail training vessel, after the coast guard picked up a distress signal sent around midday.
