Seven coal miners in China are trapped underground after a mine accident on Wednesday.
The accident occurred at around 1:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday when 273 miners were working in the shaft of the Shanmushu Coal Mine in Gongxian county, Sichuan province.
Over 120 rescuers and 20 medical workers are on the scene to assist in the rescue.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
China's mines are the deadliest in the world because of lax enforcement of safety standards and a rush to feed demand from a robust economy.
