Like other MOBAs, the key to SA is in the champions you play. Five are free to play at any given time — sorry, “Free to try” because Zynga never wants you to forget that they’re up for sale — with the expected spread of abilities (heavy melee, ranged, magic, healing, assassin, etc.).
Unlike the other MOBAs I’m familiar with, though, characters don’t level during a match; instead, you level them between matches, meaning that you could be bringing a hero to battle who’s more powerful from the get-go than your opponents. I’m not a fan of this; one thing I really liked about HOC was how leveling was part of the play strategy.
