Playing with water balloons on a hot summer would appeal to people of all ages.

On July 13th, nearly 1,200 people gathered at the new Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh to take part in The Great American Water Balloon Fight.

Participants threw more than 100,000 balloons filled with water in an effort to raise money for those in need in Haiti and to flight global poverty.

According to Pittsburgh city guide, “The event is held in support of Team Tassy, a group founded back in 2010 in Pittsburgh after meeting a boy named Tassy from Haiti who couldn’t access proper medical care for the fatal tumor slowly growing on his face.” The organization drew in funds which allowed Tassy to get that surgery.

As part of this year’s fun, a 24-year-old man dressed as a baby in a footed sleeper. When the grown infant ran through the crowds, event participants hurled vibrant water balloons at rival teams.

Attendees certainly had a blast, belly surfing on the wet turf and jumping through and around the soaked surroundings.
