The main objective of this project is to control the speed of a DC motor through PC. Keyboard commands from the PC generate PWM output features. The functionality of this circuit is that once the PC sends the command signal to the microcontroller through MAX232 that is used to convert the voltage level of PC to that of microcontroller. Later, the microcontroller analyses these signals and activates the motor driver to drive the motor as desired.
The power supply consists of a step down transformer 230/12V, which steps down the voltage to 12V AC. This is converted to DC using a Bridge rectifier and it is then regulated to +5V using a voltage regulator 7805 which is required for the operation of the microcontroller and other components.
