Dogs Being Used at Airports for Stress Relief

To reduce passenger stress, Miami, Florida, San Jose and Los Angeles airports have brought in therapy dogs for people who are traveling.

Flying is stressful for most people.

To reduce that stress, airports in Miami, San Jose and Los Angeles have brought in therapy dogs after security checkpoints for travelers.

The idea is that petting the dog, and spending a few minutes with it will put the passengers at ease, after dealing with the annoyances of TSA security.

The volunteer program at LAX International airport in Los Angeles is called PUP, which is an acronym for Pets Unstressing Passengers.

People, including pilots and flight crews at LAX were thrilled to be able to pet a dog on their way through the airport,

All of the dogs are certified as therapy animals and also work at other locations like hospitals, schools, and nursing homes.

Los Angeles World Airports Executive Director Gina Marie Lindsey said: “It's a great opportunity to spread happiness to millions of travelers from all over the world. Expect to see the PUP's on a regular basis in Terminals at LAX.”

What do you think? Is having a dog to pet at the airport a good idea?
