China has made significant inroads in terms of investment in Latin America in recent years. While their commercial relationship is still small in comparison to the United States’, Beijing has managed to increase its two-way trade with Latin America by 660 percent since the beginning of the century. At the same time, Latin America is experiencing an economic boom. Average annual GDP growth for Latin American Countries will be 3.7 percent this year according to United Nations estimates.
