US whistleblower Edward Snowden has withdrawn his Russia asylum request. Snowden, a former contractor for the National Security Agency (NSA), has been leaking information about American surveillance activities.
He arrived in Moscow last week and is believed to be in the transit area of the city's Sheremetyevo airport.
