"In June of 2012, the Waldo Canyon Fire cascaded down the Pikes Peak mountain range and into the city of Colorado Springs. Thousands were evacuated from their homes. When the fire had run its course, hundreds of families had no home to return to. My wife, Pam, and I were among them.
