Kimberly Watts' male golden retriever/shepherd mix breed disappeared from his home on April 28th. Watts ignited a search campaign and 53 days after the pooch went missing, he was reunited with his ecstatic owner.
Dog owners are left devastated when their beloved pet goes missing. That was exactly the case for Kimberly Watts, whose male golden retriever/shepherd mix breed disappeared from his home on April 28th.
The pooch named Harley had escaped the house through a garage door along with another family dog during a storm. The other canine eventually returned back home but Harley remained missing.
Watts spent nearly two months looking for him, never once giving up. She created and passed out over 1,000 fliers to local residents. She also posted about 50 public signs in her community. Watts even established a Facebook page.
Numerous sightings came in and the determined dog owner followed up on every single one of them and set up feeding stations. Amazingly, 53 days after Harley went missing, he was spotted by a local who recognized him, due to the attention that the drastic search efforts garnered.
He was successfully found about 2.5 miles away from Watts’ parents’ home. Harley had lost about 10 pounds and encountered a few tick bites, but other than that, he was fine.
