The results of the nature’s fury in Uttarakhand could have been even worse especially for Devprayag, Rishikesh and Haridwar cities if it wasn't the Tehri dam standing tall in the way. As what is being reported that water levels in Tehri dam were low at the start of the monsoon which proved a critical factor in retaining the waters.
