Former South African president Nelson Mandela, is now in "critical" condition, a government statement said Sunday.
The statement added that doctors are doing everything they could for the 94-year-old anti-apartheid hero.
Earlier on Sunday family members visited Mandela at a Pretoria hospital.

Mandela, who became South Africa's first black president in 1994, was rushed to the hospital on June 8 with a recurring respiratory infection.
