There is a plethora of offences the term contains, including e.g. theft, fraud, Industrial Espionage etc. It was estimated by Prof. Dr. See, a specialist in the field that the turnover of the White-collar crimes industry is around the €150bn. mark, not taking into account the environmental crimes. It is also true to say that state forces are simply short of resources to provide any meaningful deterrent.
