1991 Le Mans 24hr Review Part 2

The incredible victory of the rotary engine powered Mazda 787B at the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1991 againts the fast Jaguar armada and still walking Sauber Mercedes and Porsche 962C.
1991 was the last year of the fantastic Group C era, but the first and only (until today) win for a Japanese car maker at Le Mans. Interesting to note that Hugues de Chaunac's Oreca company was operating the Mazdas, as it does today with the Toyotas. It was also the Le Mans debut for the next generation of Sport Prototypes, the short lived Sports 3.5L (gathered in C1 class) including the fabulous V10 powered Peugeot 905.
