Pope Francis hosted the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby - at the Vatican in Rome for their first meeting.
Both are new to their roles - officially taking up their positions within days of each other earlier this year.
The two leaders spoke of the importance of reaching out to the world's poor.
