Once again it’s good to be Tiger Woods. He’s back to owning both the golf course and Forbes’ list of big money athletes, earning an estimated 78.1 million dollars over the past year.

Once again it’s good to be Tiger Woods. He’s back to owning both the golf course and Forbes’ list of big money athletes, earning an estimated 78.1 million dollars over the past year.

Roger Federer’s 71.5 million landed him in second on the list, but it was noted that he’s first when it comes to endorsements. Companies like Nike, Rolex, and Moet & Chandon shell out more than 40 million annually for his public approval.

The NBA has been kind to both Kobe Bryant and LeBron James, helping them grab the number 3 and 4 spots respectively. Bryant is the highest paid player in the organization while James comes in 4th there as well.

Number 5 is New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees. His 5-year, 100 million dollar contract with the team came with an extra 37 million bonus, and his endorsements are the 11 million dollar cherry on top of his salary cake.

Athletes have been noticeably absent from general richest people lists, however. Experts believe that Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Magic Johnson, and Shaquille O’Neal all have a shot at showing up on one soon enough.
