The American 29th Infantry Division arrived in Tavistock, Devon during May 1943 to train for " Operation Overlord", the 6th June 1944 D Day landings in northern France to liberate Europe.
During the weekend 25/26th May 2013, Re-Enactment South West organised a celebration of the arrival of the 29th Division and laid a commemorative plaque in the Town Square. This is a video record of that weekend event.
