Tilda Swinton stars in Jim Jarmusch's retro-cool vampire film

Looking cool as ever, Tilda Swinton hit the carpet in Cannes for the screening of Jim Jarmusch's vampire film "Only Lovers Left Alive".

Swinton and Tom Hiddleston play eternal lovers Adam and Eve.

And this vampire movie is high on style -- the duo seek out blood type O negative and drink it from cordial glasses or frozen popsicles.

At a news conference director Jim Jarmusch joked about the popularity of the vampire genre.

"Well we heard you could make a lot of money with this kind of films ... I don't know, it's a project, it's a thing I wanted to make, a love story with vampires, and it's something that took maybe seven years to actually make this film. And so it's kind of a long process."

While the idea of Jarmusch making a vampire film drew questions from some critics, Swinton said it came as no surprise.
