The concept of lending money through a business card proceeds as far back as the 1800s. According to the 2005 FDIC Banking Review's paper called "Overview of Recent expansion in the borrowing Card Industry", merchants and economic intermediaries provided borrowing for farming and durable items. The cards shortly started to spread to other commerce. Hotels and department stores presented their most treasured customers with paper identification cards. The cards were mostly used at that one position; although, some localized merchants would accept the competitors' card. Cardready International
