A man breaks a record for the longest Ferris wheel ride.

Ferris wheels are fun, enjoyable rides.

A Chicago man, Clinton Shepherd recently broke the record for the longest Ferris wheel ride in the same city where the amusement park attraction was first created.

He spent a total of 48 hours, 8 minutes and 25 seconds cruising on the Navy Pier’s circular machine. Shepherd was required to stay awake for the entire duration.

He reportedly played video games and watched James Bond movies along with Batman flicks in a gondola equipped with a big screen television. Soda and energy drinks also helped to keep him alert.

Guinness did permit one five minute break for each hour. Nearby restaurants provided food during the exceptionally long ride.

Shepherd stated “Once I realized Navy Pier, my friends, my family and the city of Chicago had my back and wanted me to complete this, it became easy. I was thrilled and honored to be able to have all the love and support I did.”
