An alleged burglar leaves a trail of coins behind for cops.
Not all criminals are as smooth as Michael Corleone. A Vero Beach homeowner contacted law enforcement to report a burglary.
The victim claimed several items were missing from the house including a computer, numerous guns, a sword and coins. Investigators noticed roughly 40 coins outside of the residence.
Surprisingly, the loose change on the ground left a path for cops to follow. The coins led to Michael Sherman’s doorstep. Police authorities obtained a search warrant for his home and were able to locate some of the other stolen items.
Eventually, Sherman led deputies to his backyard where a few other missing products were buried.
Earlier this year, officers in South Carolina were dispatched to a country store following a burglary complaint. Inside the shop, several Cheetos resided on the floor.
Surveillance footage showed a white car speeding away from the scene. A strikingly similar vehicle was discovered at a nearby home.
Officers knew they had the right house when Cheetos were spotted on the ground near the porch of the residence. A 19-year-old man was subsequently arrested.
