$1 million worth of jewelry is stolen at Cannes Film Festival.

The Cannes Film Festival is a widely watched event around the world.

Recently, crooks stole over $1 million worth of high-end jewelry intended to be worn by the festival’s celebrity film stars.

The pieces were taken from the hotel room of the luxury jeweler, known as Chopard.

The theft occurred in the morning hours, when the suite was empty. The entire safe, which housed all of the rare and precious items, was removed from the wall and swiped.

Glimmering bracelets and necklaces were just a few products which are now missing. Police are investigating the crime, but no suspects have yet been identified.

Earlier this year, actress and singer, Julianne Hough encountered a theft. She had left three jewelry pieces in her car while it was parked an apartment complex lot. In total, the value of the items was roughly $100,000.

The jewels were given to her by boyfriend, Ryan Seacrest. One of the stolen goods was a $50,000 watch.
