A Syracuse fan lost a bet to me which required him to dress up like the Brutus the Buckeye mascot to watch the following Final Four games. The costume entails a big, paper mache helmet that I'd create especially for him. Luis helped me, thankfully, because patience is not one of my virtues and I blew two fuses and wanted to rush painting when the paper mache hadn't dried. And, he thought savvy enough, to put bubble wrap on the inside to cushion the blunt of random slaps to the head. Which Katie did a few times. He hedged bets on Syracuse beating Ohio State during the Elite 8 showdown and should've known better when he said, "I didn't think you'd really build a mascot head for me." We partied at a packed Buckeye alumni bar in Times Square. Brutus Jason danced, paraded, posed for many photos---and had to enjoy Kansas beating Ohio State to advance to the Big Dance.
