GEO Germany has assigned writer Michael Saur and photographer Mathieu Asselin to write a story and shoot nine still portraits and videos for the GEO Special New York 2011. The still images were intended for both the print magazine and the videos for the launch of a new GEO iPad application. The videos are intended to give the readers an inside view on life of these nine New Yorkers, by linking the video with the still photographs.
