This version of "Pulse" was installed in a narrow 18' deep and 15' high and 3' wide storage space located behind gallery walls at the Mills College Art Museum. A chewed dog toy with a motor placed inside moves slowly. A steel gate places the veiwer aprox. 10 feet from the object and impedes entrance to the tunnel-like closet space. Speakers were implanted at strategic locations within the space so that two identical field recordings being played out of synch could only be heard after stepping into the doorway.
